The Realm of Eärwa
Kazar Grundle was born a son of the imperitor. His mother an Orc. As a child Kazar was taught courtly ways to the best of the hand maidens help. He was taught sword play by a high ranking prefect. He always felt out of place in the palace. Kazar learned to play knucklebones from the legionnaires and became very welcome around them. Even though he wasn’t allowed to leave the palace he would sneak out and visit the local town and village folk. He would help them with heavy chores and play with the children. Kazar felt it was only right to care for the his people like his own family. Eventually he would get caught and punished for not obeying his fathers orders. Yet one day while out in the country side he met a maiden from a village further out. In time they became friends and he would bring gifts to her. The punishments became harsher. To the point that Centurion doing the flogging could not bear to continue. With tears in the Centurion’s eyes he begged the Imperator for mercy for his son. The Centurion was executed on that spot. Kazar in time fell in love with the maiden. But unknowing to Kazar the Imperator had Kazar fallowed. As Kazar left the Imperator had his legions raze the village to the ground. The maiden was beaten, whipped, raped, murdered. Even having her very skin removed (flayed). One day he was summoned by his father. Who presented Kazar a gift in hopes to keep him home bound. Kazar open the wrapped gift and found the very flesh of his friend in it. His father told him that her blood and her villiage blood was on his hands. Kazar never forgave himself. Seeking atonement for what he thought was his sins. He joined the Paladin order. While visiting the palace Kazar could hear the screams of young children from the dark dungeons. Kazar came to a door. There he saw the faces of a sibling in terror. The a bright flash of light glowing. The child screamed out in pain. The light dimmed and what was his sibling was now a shriveled husk. Kazar peeked more into the door and to his very horror he saw his father standing in front of the child. While priests he did not recognize chanted. Kazar left in haste. He was in shock of the seen. He went to his mother and told her what he saw. She would tell him never to speak of it ever again. Later at dinner Kazar was informed he would marry a High Ranking noble but Kazar refused. Enraged his father hurled a dagger at him. Only to stop short of its target. His father reminded him of his duty , his family, and that the next time his father would have his mother cut out his tounge. Kazar stood up and left to the peremptory.
